Top 5 boot dryers for 2022

I remember heading out to the job site on a few occasions and dreading putting on my work boots because I forgot to dry them out the night before. If you’ve experienced wearing wet boots, shoes, or even sandals, you know what I’m talking about.

Just the thought of working with wet feet for any length of time is enough to send a chill down my spine. Especially in the winter months. Sure, you can always wrap your foot in a plastic bag for the day to help fight against the wet boot, however that’s not the best solution and one you should avoid.

The only solution is investigating multiple boot dryers and chose one best for you. I’ve seen people on job sites wear work boots where they should have been wearing rubber boots, and not just because it was raining. It blows my mind when I see people wear normal work boots while pouring concrete. However, that’s another post.

The effects of wearing wet footwear on your feet can cause some major discomfort, and might even keep you from working the next day. If you have experienced itching, tingling, burning, numbness, or even blisters on your feet after wearing wet footwear, it could be an indication that you might have trench foot, or at least some signs of it.

Wet boots and socks are also a breeding ground for bacteria and fungi that could essentially cause an infection in your foot. The smallest cut on your foot is enough for this to happen. Bacteria will grow fast and thrive in your wet footwear. So, think twice about wearing wet footwear. You wouldn’t want to end up with toe nail fungus or possible Staph viruses.

I know the effects of how fast an infection can start. Although this story I’m about to tell is not related to wet footwear, I feel it will help explain how fast you can develop infection in the body.

I was on a massive hospital job site getting ready to pour concrete and not a lot of it either. It was a small section about 100sqft and 8 inches thick. The pour was going great, however when I was leveling off the concrete with my partner I knelt down for a second and felt a slight discomfort just under my knee.

I didn’t think anything of it until after the job was done. After work was when things got interesting. In the job trailer getting my things for the day before heading home, I decided to have a look at my knee.

It was swelling up like a grapefruit and getting harder to walk. The discomfort I had felt when I knelt down was from the smallest stone or pebble, however it was enough to tear the bursa sac of my knee which caused major swelling.

I ended up not being able to bend my knee for a week. What made things worse was that I had a small sweat pimple on my knee prior to the injury and because it was not far from the tear my Doctor figured that that’s where the bacteria entered and caused an infection in my knee.

It’s crazy how fast things can get out of control if you’re not careful. I was off work for almost two weeks and on antibiotics to fight the infection in my knee. Could I have prevented this from happening? Maybe. The point that I’m trying to make is how fast an in infection can happen, whether it’s your knee or feet.

Boot Dryers are one of the best investments construction workers, hunters, and practically anyone who is outside a lot or who also sweats a lot can make. There’s many on the market today that not only dry the footwear but also disinfects it as well. You can even add other attachments for gloves and longer boots if you like.

You might think that placing your wet footwear over the heat register in the winter is a perfect solution. However, what you’re really doing is just blowing all that bacteria and smell throughout your living space and exposing your loved ones to it. And that’s why I recommend purchasing a proper dryer unit for wet footwear. Placed in the garage away from family would be the best solution.

Only you know of the investment put into the gear for all that you do outside so therefore adding longevity to it just makes sense. You really can’t go wrong with checking out the list below.
